They have also played numerous festivals across Iowa and the Midwest, and are highly sought after for larger private events in the Des Moines area. Members of the Bix Museum or Bix Society can get a free ticket at the doors the day of. Tickets will be available at the doors the day of the screening. We apologize for the inconvenience, but once the project is completed, the road will be much better for everyone downtown. Please use the 2nd St entrance and take the elevator down into the lower level to reach the museum. The best way to get to the museum is to take River Dr and park in one of the free parking lots along River Dr, then walk across the street on Main St and you will reach our building on the corner of Main and 2nd St. Sidewalks to get into our building should be open but you will need to plan accordingly. Festival goers will learn more about this bus tour at the Bix Museum table at the Festival site.ĭue to the 2nd Street Resurfacing Project being underway during the festival time, Eastbound traffic from Harrison St to the Government Bridge will be closed off. There will be a bus service from the Rhythm City Casino on Friday, August 5th in the morning to take guests from the festival site to the museum and other local Bix sites before the music begins in the afternoon.
Our museum hours for the festival is as follows: The Annual Bix Festival at the Rhythm City Casino goes from August 4th-Aug 6th this year and the Bix Museum will be open throughout the festival and present at the venue.
